Frequently asked questions
How is gross rental yield calculated?
Annual rent divided by the all-in purchase price, times 100. It is a quick first filter, but ignores expenses, vacancy and taxes: net yield is more faithful.
What is a good rental yield?
Gross yields of 5 to 7 percent are common in mid-size French cities, less in large metros where appreciation compensates. Positive cash flow means the property pays for itself.
